Trumpeter Don Johnson is from the Cincinnati area where he once played trumpet for syndicated TV shows and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Since moving to Orlando, he has worked with Bill Allred and other members of the BACJB at both Walt Disney World and the world–famous Rosie O’Grady’s night club.
During his long and distinguished career, Don has worked with a long list of big-name entertainers including Ray Charles, Sara Vaughn, Mel Tormé, Andy Williams. Lena Horne and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. He’s toured with such notables as Henry Mancini, Les Brown, and Duke Ellington and Tommy Dorsey.
Don’s ability to play both powerhouse lead and very inventive jazz makes him a prefect fit for the versatile Classic Band book.
